My first smartphone: HTC Diamond

Jun 18th, 2008

I’m using my cellphone (nokia 6600) for yeeeaaars now. I’ve used this phone always with pleasure but since a few months my little buddy is not working that well as in the past. Cellphones are getting older and older if years past by (cellphone granny?) and technology push them into a new dimension.

I always used my phone only for calling people or get in touch via SMS, but my life is so busy at the moment that a tiny wonder could be very helpfull to help me arranging things, ofcourse: a SmartPhone would help!

My current contract with the cellphone provider will be end in three months, and I allready requested a contract by a new cellphone provider (with the option to keep my current phonenumber). The pretty part of this deal is that I will receive a brand new smartphone: HTC touch Diamond for free!

This phone is really a killer because (almost) every possible feature is available on this phone:

  • TFT Touch screen (with 3D dimension menu navigator)
  • 480 x 640 pixels, 2.8 inches
  • Handwriting recognition
  • 4 GB user available memory (video, mp3 files, etc)
  • 192 MB DDR SDRAM, 256 MB ROM
  • GPRS, EDGE, 3G, WiFi, bluetooth, USB, etc
  • Build-in GPS receiver, for navigation software like TOMTOM
  • 3 megapixel camera
  • Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional

These are just a few specs what this smartphone has under his hood,  I can’t wait until the postman will dropp by to introduce to my new friend!

I’m very curious about which phones are on the market over 6 years! Is it hologram?
Or are we calling our friends which having holiday on planet “Mars” direct from our livingroom? ;-)

So you finally got your self one of the HTC phones!?!
As you know I’m a proud owner of HTC P4350 which is just great! I can’t live without it!
Currently it’s running on WM 5.0 but I can upgrade to WM6.0 if I go to the Vodafone store.
